Emelda is 46 years old. Her husband, Charlie, has left her for a 23-year-old dancer. Her five difficult sons worship their father and blame Emelda for his leaving. On top of everything else, she has to struggle with a new job at the local supermarket. For comfort she turns to her only true friend - ice-cream.
But lately there's a handsome man driving the ice-cream van. Could romance be about to blossom?

I haven't read this one yet... but it does seem nice I now understand why there's an ice-cream on the book cover.

And why it's called Mrs Whippy. This is a great book if you don't have much time to read. It's only 75 pages! (Royalties go to the CARI foundation by the way

Hey, I just found out that Mrs. Whippy is a book which some pupils have to read in German schools! How cool is that?

No, not homework. Sometimes you read English books in English lessons and that's what they do with Mrs. Whippy. They read and analyse it in school! Soooo cool!
