So funny. They said the taoiseach (sp?) and I was like WHAT?! Bertie? And yep, there he was. He and Tony Blair went to eat in Jamie's restaurant.

I don't have a clue how Ireland's political system works but I think Bertie is in the highest position you can get there. So what Bush is in America and Blair (apart from the Queen) is in England and Angela Merkel is in Germany (Bundeskanzlerin) is Bertie in Ireland.

Think of him as our Balkenende, but without Beatrix and the rest of the royals. Balkenende would have the highest position then.
